This lovely duet has been made even more popular in recent years by its use in a number of TV commercials. The orchestral parts are reasonably faithful to Delibes' original scoring. The two soloists (or perhaps duettists?) can be vocal or instrumental. No words are shown in the score or "concert pitch" solo part but it is suggested that singers use their own copy. This arrangement leaves the piece in its original key (B major). This means that transposed parts for certain instruments end up in less friendly keys but we decided that it would just not sound the same in Bb or C!
