For several years I semi-improvised this toccata from an outline sketch, aiming for a style somewhere between the Final from Vierne's first symphony and Mulet's Carillon-Sortie. At the point where the "improvisation" had become identical every time, I thought I'd better write it down.
Registration is up to the performer. I normally have full Swell throughout (perhaps better without 16's in the middle section) and adjust the Great and Pedal. Staccatos denote a break in the legato and are not intended to be particularly short. Timothy Ravalde
