DOUBLE CONCERTO for two violins

This concerto is in three linked sections: an opening Moderato presents the main thematic material, followed by an Allegretto which explores the themes further, rounded off by a Vigoroso finale based on the inversion of the main theme. The concerto takes its cue from Holst's Double Concerto, in which the soloists do not indulge in technical display but provide a contrast to the orchestra with whom they share the simple thematic material within a relatively brief structure.
