Very difficult Wagner made a bit more playable, not least by the reduction to a relatively standard-sized orchestra and its transposition down a tone. The flute parts should be played on piccolos, or an octave higher if flutes are used, for that "ear-piercing" effect. The timpani part could be easier if played by 2 players. There are an awful lot of notes for everyone in this - be warned!
