A Musical Fantasy for Christmas for voices or choir with piano or orchestra by Colin Warnock, orchestrated by Jonathan Butcher.
An up-beat setting of the well-known poem by Clement C. Moore entitled The Night Before Christmas (though it was originally called A Visit from St.Nicholas).
It can be performed by solo singers or a choir with or without soloists. The voice parts divide into 4 and it is suitable for mixed voices, upper voices or male voices. The vocal score gives the piano accompaniment and shows the vocal parts for SATB. Separate Chorus Scores for SATB, SSAA and TTBB are available for use by the singers.
The different versions are completely compatible so you could, for example, perform it with a mixed SATB choir and an upper voice SSAA choir together. Accompaniment can be with piano alone, or piano. bass and drums (bass and drums should use the orchestral parts) or with full orchestra.
Orchestration: 2 Flutes (2nd doubling Piccolo), 2 Oboes (2nd doubling Cor Anglais), 2 Clarinets in Bb, 2 Bassoons, 2 Horns in F, 2 Trumpets in Bb, Timpani, Percussion, Drum Kit & Strings
Great fun and an excellent lighter work for your Christmas concert.
