Ruth Sellar(1986-)
Ruth read Music at King's College London, graduating with a First Class Honours degree in 2010. She proceeded to develop a career in teaching the piano and violin, working at Bilton Grange Preparatory School and several other independent schools, plus also privately in Oxfordshire. Ruth loves composing both choral works and solo/ensemble instrumental compositions, often for her pupils, at varying levels. In 2012 she was a winner in the Classic FM 'A Carol for Christmas' competition with her carol for community choir, 'Patapan'; this was performed in King's College Cambridge and was broadcast on Classic FM. In 2018 she won the Sir David Willcocks Carol Competition with her carol ‘The Snow lies thick’, which was performed by The Bach Choir at Cadogan Hall. She loves sharing her passion for music with people of all ages and abilities through both teaching and composition.
