In 2014, Hereford Cathedral School's Cantabile Girls' Choir commissioned Michael Neaum to set to music, a poem by Digby Haseler, a former pupil of the school who served in the First World War. The Skylark premiered on 18th October 2014 in Hereford Cathedral at a charity concert to raise money for local military charities. Subsequently, the choir sung The Skylark when they won the BBC Songs of Praise "School Choir of the Year" in May 2015.
Duration 3½ minutes
